Parking lot striping is the finish on a paved or sealed lot. It shows drivers where to park and which way to go. Paveway Paving Pros provides it as part of our parking lot work. We stripe lots for churches and small businesses around Lebanon and across Middle Tennessee.
We stripe new lots after parking lot paving and older lots after sealcoating. We also re-stripe faded lots, on the old layout or a better one. Accessible spaces and directional arrows are part of that layout. Either way, the lot gets measured and marked before the first line goes down.
Tell us about the driveway, farm lane or parking lot and where it is. We look at the job and put a free estimate in writing.
On a new lot, the lines go on last. Once the fresh hot mix has cooled, the stalls and drive lanes get measured and marked out. The striping follows those marks, so the rows come out straight and even.
Sealcoating hides every line on the lot. The lot gets striped again once the sealer has dried, and the weather decides how long that takes. With both in one job, the lot reopens with clear lines.
Broken spots come first. Potholes and failed sections need asphalt repair before the sealer goes down. Lines painted over a broken surface crack and flake right along with it.
Under the federal 2010 ADA Standards, the number of accessible spaces depends on the total in the lot. A lot with 1 to 25 spaces needs at least one accessible space. A lot with 26 to 50 needs two, and the count keeps climbing with the lot. One in six accessible spaces, and always at least one, must be van accessible.
Every accessible space needs an access aisle next to it. The aisle is at least 5 feet wide and runs the full length of the space. It gets its own markings to discourage parking there. The standard measures space and aisle widths to the centerline of the stripes.
These spaces go where the accessible path to the entrance is shortest. Lebanon's zoning code also ties accessible parking to the federal ADA standards. Those standards cover the posted sign and the slope of each space too.
Tires and the Tennessee sun wear lines down. Paint goes quickest where cars turn in, so the entrance is often the first spot to fade. Once the lines fade, parking turns into guesswork and spaces go to waste.
A re-stripe can trace the old layout or fix one that wastes space. Lebanon's zoning code sets stall sizes by the angle of parking. It also calls for each space to be marked with painted lines or curbs. Rules differ from town to town, and the local planning office answers those questions.
A faded lot often sits on a faded surface. If the asphalt has turned gray, the estimate may include sealcoating before the new lines. Fresh lines on a black surface are easier for drivers to see. One call covers the seal and the striping.

New paving starts with string lines and grading. Then a roller packs the stone base. On older asphalt, we repair the broken spots first.
Hot mix goes down from the top of the drive out to the road, and the rollers press it smooth. Once new asphalt cures, we normally seal it.

Learn MoreFederal soil maps show clay over limestone under much of Lebanon, and water moves slowly through that clay. We grade for drainage and pack a crushed stone base before any hot mix goes down.
Asphalt has pores, and water gets into the pavement through them. We brush or squeegee the sealer into the surface so it fills those pores.
