Paveway Paving Pros handles asphalt driveway paving for homes in Lebanon and the towns around it. We pave new asphalt driveways and replace old ones that have failed. A short drive in town may take one load of asphalt. A drive out in the country can run half a mile or a mile.
Every driveway gets hot mix asphalt over a compacted stone base, laid with our own pavers and rollers. We are an asphalt paving contractor in Lebanon, and our work reaches about 60 miles out across Middle Tennessee. Call or text (615) 894-5175 for a free estimate.
Tell us about the driveway, farm lane or parking lot and where it is. We look at the job and put a free estimate in writing.
Every asphalt driveway installation starts with layout. We run string lines all the way around the outside of the drive and spray paint clean lines. Then we strip the grass and vegetation out from inside those lines.
Next comes the grading. We shape the ground so rain runs off the driveway, and any drainage the job needs gets handled there. Tennessee's one-call law counts grading as digging, with notice through 811 due at least three working days ahead.
Then crushed stone goes down, and we pack it with a roller until the base is right. Paving starts at the top of the drive, and we pave our way out to the road. The rollers follow and press the hot mix smooth. Once the new asphalt cures, we normally come back for its first sealcoating.
Federal soil maps show Talbott soil on more than a quarter of Wilson County. Its subsoil is firm clay over limestone, and water moves through it slowly. The county's second most common soil, on rocky cedar ground, sits only about 3 to 12 inches over limestone.
NOAA's climate normals give Lebanon about 54 inches of rain and melted snow a year. About 17 days a year bring an inch of rain or more. A pavement engineering reference warns that water under a pavement weakens the materials beneath it. On slow-draining clay, that water has nowhere quick to go.
That is why the grading and the stone base matter so much on a Lebanon driveway. The city's driveway permit form says a drive must be graded so street stormwater does not run down it. Rocky ground and deep clay grade differently, so we look at the ground before we price the job.
Failed asphalt usually shows it. Alligator cracking is a web of connected cracks, and that same pavement reference ties it to lost support underneath. It also calls potholes the end result of that cracking.
When the base still holds firm and the wear is on top, asphalt resurfacing may be the better fit. When the base has failed, the fix starts at the ground with a full replacement.
A full replacement starts over. The old driveway comes out, and the new one goes in with the same steps as any new driveway. We look at the driveway first, and the free estimate names the fix it needs.

New paving starts with string lines and grading. Then a roller packs the stone base. On older asphalt, we repair the broken spots first.
Hot mix goes down from the top of the drive out to the road, and the rollers press it smooth. Once new asphalt cures, we normally seal it.
